For ordinary Questions, the Chair directs equally that the Ministers must avail the answers through the Clerk’s Department so that Members can have an opportunity to go through the answers to be able to interrogate them adequately. As for Questions for Private Notice, the Front Bench is under no obligation to furnish written answers to the Questions. That has been the tradition. This is because the nature of the Question itself is that there is urgency in it and it has to be answered within 48 hours."
