    "content": "Mr. Temporary Deputy Chairman, Sir, I beg to move:- THAT, Clause 18 of the Bill be amended by deleting paragraph (b) and substituting therefor the following new paragraph- (b) in the proviso to paragraph 10 by inserting the following immediately after sub-paragraph (iii)- and provided further that an exemption under this paragraph- (i) shall be valid for a period of five years but may, at any time, be revoked by the Commissioner for any just cause; and (ii) shall, where an applicant has complied with all the requirements of this paragraph, be issued within sixty days of the lodging of the application. Mr. Temporary Deputy Chairman, Sir, the rationale for this amendment is that the current application in the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) normally takes six to 36 months. So, we want to reduce that period. This takes a lot of time and hence, there is loss of image for the country when an application is lodged."
