He promised that the Government will initiate an irrigation scheme that will support 10,000 families. We can only irrigate effectively where we have fresh water. The only fresh water that we can get is from that Omo region in Todo Nyangeria. So, this project would be a pipe dream, if we do not stop the construction of Gibe 3 Hydro Power Dam."
