What we are asking is why he would go there to talk about water that we are losing when we have a Minister for Water. With due respect to the Minister, one of the main reasons as to why we are saying that the project must be stopped is that no environmental and social impact assessment was carried out. What is affecting Kenya today is also affecting our neighbours. The drought that is ravaging Kenya today is also affecting Ethiopia and Somalia. So, it is important that this is properly done. We must also take into account the welfare and livelihood of the 500,000 Kenyans. When we talk of a ten metre drop in the level of the lake, I do not know whether we are able to visualise how deep that is. It is like the level of the water dropping from the ceiling of this chamber down to the floor."
