"content": "It is also good to see the efforts that have been made to improve the management of schools generally. The Bill now calls the Board of Governors, Boards of Management. It is very good that we have now set certain standards, namely, minimum requirements in terms of qualifications for those who can serve on these boards. Among the challenges that we have continued to face is the quality of the persons that some sponsors of schools bring to these boards that manage the affairs of our schools. Therefore, generally, without belaboring the point that the Minister for Education has already placed the House, I want to commend him once again and the Ministry. I do not think it will be in order for me to finish without commending the Minister for having dealt very deftly and humanely with the recent teachers’ strike, having listened to our teachers and within the framework of the Government, having found a way to get our teachers back to school and our children back to class. I beg to second."
