    "content": "Madam Temporary Deputy Chairlady, I beg to move:- THAT, Regulation 18 be amended- (a) in paragraph (a) by deleting the words “five hundred thousand” and substituting therefor the words “one hundred thousand”; and, (b) in paragraph (b) by deleting the words “one million” and substituting therefor the words “two hundred thousand”. This is the nomination fee that presidential candidates will be paying to the electoral commission. We appreciate that the electoral commission will be spending cash in processing its papers but we do not believe that the 1,000 per cent increase is fair. So, we are proposing that presidential candidates pay Kshs200,000 each, up from Kshs100,000 in the last election, and that persons with disabilities pay half of that amount. That is the import of the amendment to Regulation 18."
