    "content": "important that we do not have two bodies making judgment. We would like to have one independent Board that will ensure that whatever criteria they have set for vetting of these judges and magistrates is adhered to. Once you bring in another body the way we did during the other amendment of the same Bill, you will bring in other factors or other variables that may not be very easy to control. So, I want to say that it is important that we support this amendment Bill, so that the Board can carry out its mandate as soon possible, and so that this matter is expedited and we move on as a country. Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, what I want to note is that we must make sure this Board does its work as soon as possible, so that we complete this. In this regard, I would have liked the Minister to give a certain period, so that we do not give them a blanket cheque in terms of time in which to operate; they may operate for a long term. That is what we have done with other commissions. It would have been nice to have given them time limit within which to transact their business. Otherwise, I want to support this amendment Bill with the hope that this Board will move with speed and execute its mandate and complete its work so that our Judiciary can now function as it was intended as stipulated in our Constitution. With those few remarks, I beg to support this amendment Bill."
