It is a known fact that agriculture is the backbone of our economy. All the sectors have registered tremendous growth in the past ten years. We had registered good progress in the agricultural and animal or livestock sectors. I would like to take this very short time to give the background that there was no major difference that we all needed updated laws in the agricultural sector. We all agree that the laws governing this sector are archaic. However, we wanted to come up with laws that also highlight and ring-fence certain gains that we have already made.
