"content": "construction of the fence up to the time it was finalized, the engagement of casual labourers to continue maintaining the fence took place at the same rate of Kshs9,240 per casual labourer per month. We envisaged that following the launch of the Aberdares Trust sometime in May this year, things might change. It would be operational by May. There are a couple of modalities that we, in the Ministry, are reviewing with the Rhino Ark with regard to how this fence will be managed. We are also looking at issues to do with the responsibilities over the fence that has been put up. We hope that, once the Trust is in place, staff affairs will be looked into. In fact, some of them may be taken on board on a long-term basis. Their salaries will also be reviewed once the management of the Aberdares Trust has been put in place."
