The Civil Society all over the world has done a lot of work, particularly in ensuring that there is an alternative view and that there is also checking and balancing of governance, including of public affairs where Governments have been intransigent or not very democratic. At this juncture, I would like to laud the role that the Civil Society has played in ensuring provision of services in areas where they have been inaccessible, particularly basic need"
