    "content": "The same chancellor may from time to time give advice to the council which the chancellor considers necessary for the betterment of the university. This enables a Chancellor, who feels that there is need to improve the university in a certain way, to give that advice. The danger in removing titular will be that it will mean that we are allowing the position of the chancellor to be used beyond these set duties that they have been given. We would like the respect of the chancellor to be maintained. We want the honour that is normally given to the chancellor to be maintained. The wise counsel and advice that the chancellor gives to the council will be considered without ever having the chancellor becoming part of the governance organs. What I am saying is that it is very important that the chancellor remains titular. It is traditionally so in all universities."
