    "content": "Mr. Speaker, Sir, in many countries retired military personnel are actually engaged in very useful service in civilian life commensurate to their qualifications and training. Unfortunately, it seems that the Republic of Kenya does not wish to treat its own retired military personnel in a manner befitting the amount of resources we put into training them, and the qualifications and experience they get are left unutilized. In that way, in a sense, we actually squander in totality the investment that we put into them. I will be urging on behalf of all the retired officers that urgent action be taken by the National Assembly or the Department of Defence, which is in charge of this matter, by perhaps setting up a commission of inquiry either by the Government itself or by the relevant departmental Committee of the National Assembly to look into the grievances of the retired military personnel."
