    "content": "Mr. Speaker, Sir, I beg to ask the Minister for Public Health and Sanitation the following Question by Private Notice. (a) Could the Minister state the criteria, credible scientific facts and evidence that informed the decision by the Government to ban the importation and use of the Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) foods and products in the country? (b) Is the Minister aware that the ban on GMOs will adversely stifle the ongoing biotechnology research in the country and consequently compromise future food security? (c) Was the National Biosafety Authority (NBA) involved in the decision to ban the importation and use of the GMO foods and could the Government consider lifting the same?"
