"content": "Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, let us forget about this notion that some people are so important that when they are not there, nothing can move in Kenya. I strongly oppose and even if I am going to be the only dissenting voice, I think some of the names are okay but to include someone who has served in the Civil Service and has gone on retirement--- Retirement means you have served your country, go and rest. Why do we keep on bringing these people and denying other Kenyans a chance to also serve? Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, these attitudes are pervasive even in private organizations. I had a time to visit one of the most advanced countries in the world and I was shown the founders of leading companies. When they were sitting in the Chief Executive Officer’s (CEO) seat, they gave the impression that nothing would happen without them; they died as we all must, they went to the next world and those companies are doing even better. I want it to go on record that I am totally opposed to re-appointing people who have retired after serving for 40 years. If they did not manage their lives well, who tells you that they are going to manage it better in the next ten years they are going to serve in this Commission? I strongly oppose and urge my colleagues even those who have supported this list to change their minds and we kick out some of these fellows. They are not the only ones. Kenya has over 40 million people! So many youths are unemployed; you take someone who has worked for 40 years, give him a salary of Kshs800,000 per month and you see nothing wrong with that? I completely oppose, Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir."
