    "content": " Mr. Speaker, Sir, I beg to reply. (a) I am aware that the dependant’s pension is still paid for a period of five years after the death of the pensioner. The processing of a dependant’s pension is made under the provisions of CAP.189 of the Pensions Act which was not affected by the revision of the mandatory retirement age. (b) It will not be possible to increase the period for payment of dependants’ pension to ten years instead of five years owing to current pressures on budgetary resources. It should be noted by honourable Members that the design of a pension scheme is dependant of various factors key among them being its future sustainability."
