"content": "Board. So, corruption remains an issue in the way we govern. Recommendations are there in those specific cases. Secondly, in the recommendations, we are thanking the Ministry of Forestry and Wildlife for the work they have done in Ontulili and Imenti forests, but we have issues in the way the KWS has managed the five dams where 60 per cent of our electricity comes from; namely, Masinga Dam, Kamburu, Gitaru, Kindaruma, and Kiambere. We are losing people to crocodiles. Indeed, a child was killed on Sunday. I hope to visit the family in the next two days or so. Mr. Speaker, Sir, two days ago, a man was killed by a hippo, his legs were broken and he bled to death. We have raised this matter with the Chairman and Director of the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS). The approach to the problem of reptiles especially in Kiambere Dam is very capitalistic. KenGen and KWS do not care about people. They get 60 per cent of electricity from these five dams. Indeed, we share with the Vice-President one of the dams; Kiambere, but there is no corporate or social responsibility whatsoever. When we get in touch with KenGen, their arrogance is just incredible. Money is promised but it is never given. We hope that in these recommendations, the Wildlife Act will be expedited so that the issue of hippos and crocodiles in these dams will be dealt with once and for all. Finally, we wish to indicate that we are making recommendations in respect of Mwea Trustland and Kirinyaga and Mbeere South Constituency. These recommendations cover the wider subject of a law that we had hoped would have been passed as a Committee; that is, the Community Land Act. Many people stand to benefit when this law is enacted. I want to take this opportunity to make these recommendations very strongly. I also wish to take this opportunity to thank Members of my Committee for the work they have done over the last two-and-half years or so. I thank my Committee Clerk, especially Mr. Tiampati, who is here with us in a different capacity. I thank you because your support has been exemplary and I take this opportunity to wish you well in your future. As we come back, many of us hope that you will be our next Speaker in the Eleventh Parliament. I hope you share our ambition in that respect. With those few remarks, I beg to move and request Mr. Ruteere to second this Motion."
