"content": "Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir, for giving me this chance to support the Report of the Departmental Committee on Lands and Natural Resources. I stood up to support this because when the Chairman was moving the Report, he talked about crocodiles killing people. This is sad and I know that I have been affected in a big way. There are places like Gababa in Ijara where women and children have been affected very badly. Over 15 people have been killed by crocodiles and yet the Ministry of Forestry and Wildlife has not taken any responsibility to look into that. It is important that the Ministry of Forestry and Wildlife, in future, looks critically into this and sees what can be. The other point I wanted to talk about is on climate change and the global warming that is going on. A lot of destruction is going on. I would like, once this Report is adopted, the Ministry of Forestry and Wildlife to look critically into empowering forest guards so that they can protect our forests. The other important aspect is land grabbing particularly on our forests and catchment areas. It is important that we become watchdogs for people who want to grab our land, particularly reserved land."
