    "content": "members of the Executive or the President or the Prime Minister; rather it is our collective responsibility as citizens of the Republic of Kenya to ensure that we remain a peaceful nation. This is one thing all of us must believe in and be prepared to undertake and cherish. As we go to the next General Election, I know this is a very difficult time. This Tenth Parliament has done us proud in legislation and in its oversight and representation role. More fundamentally, there is an emerging role for parliamentarians; there is something called parliamentary diplomacy. Traditionally, diplomacy is seen as an aspect of the Executive, but today we have military diplomacy, parliamentary diplomacy, environmental diplomacy, socio-economic diplomacy and so on. These, collectively, help to bring out the image of Kenya as a very important country. Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, Kenya is the only country where there is a functional United Nations entity. This is not a small achievement. It is something that we are proud of. This key international organization is the centre of many international activities."
