"content": "relationship has allowed the country to register greater heights of economic advancement which is important for the welfare of our people. Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, let me also thank the Speaker of this House for providing admirable and crucial leadership at critical times not forgetting the Speaker’s Panel composed of hon. Gitobu Imanyara, hon. Ekwee Ethuro, Dr. Laboso and Prof. Kaloki. You have really provided dedicated service to us. To the hon. Members of this House, you have been wonderful and dear to me. I have learnt quite a lot through my interaction with the hon. Members of this House and I desire and wish to continue. As I pray for myself, I will also continue to pray for every hon. Member in this House to be successful during the elections. I would also wish to thank all the hon. Members of Parliament and Ministers who have been able to visit my constituency within the last five years. These are Prof. Anyang’-Nyong’o, hon. Githae, hon. Mutula Kilonzo, Dr. Noah Wekesa, the Deputy Prime Minister, Uhuru Kenyatta, the Vice-President and the President himself. Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, it is important as we now close our five year tenure in this House to remember the gallant sons and daughters of this country who liberated and made sure that through their sacrifice, this country became independent – the Mau Mau heroes and heroines. They have been forgotten and I recall a Motion was passed in this House awaiting the President’s assent. It is my prayer and that of this House that His Excellency agrees to assent to this Bill so that these people can also enjoy the fruits of Independence. We are also saddened that the final phase of the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) is still an eye sore in this country. I am urging the Government to make sure that these people are settled as soon as possible. Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, to the motoring public, the cost of fuel in this country is still very high and I would like the Government to keenly consider lowering the prices of this commodity so that wananchi in this country can enjoy easier transport. It is important that we urge the Government to make sure that adequate resources are invested in the security sector. Terror threats, grenade attacks, kidnappings and defilement witnessed in this country have become rampant issues that need to be eradicated. I have enjoyed leadership in this Parliament and with those few remarks, I support this Motion."
