"content": "Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I would also like to thank His Excellency the President and the Prime Minister together with the Vice-President for steering our country through these very challenging times. I come from one of the constituencies that were hard hit by the 2007/2008 post-election violence. When I was elected I had not anticipated that such a situation would have occurred. It is through the mercy of God and also the good guidance by our three leaders that we saw our people enjoy peace again. Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, I particularly want to thank that team again for visiting Kipkelion in March 2008 to help me restore peace in my constituency. This is why I have been able to achieve together with the people of Kipkelion the several milestones in development within that constituency which we are now proud of. I cherish peace. I am a soldier of peace and as I move on in ensuring that this country enjoys peace, I want to thank all those Government entities that have helped to ensure that peace has been restored particularly the Kenya Defence Forces who have shown a lot of steadiness in flushing out and eliminating some elements normally known as Al Shabaab and others who have infiltrated our country. I think now the opportunity that remains is for our police. I want to congratulate our new Inspector-General, Mr. Kimaiyo, who has been given the first opportunity to be the first Inspector-General in the newly created Kenya Police Service. I want to urge him to quickly move in and quickly clean the mess that is within the police force. We were treated to a circus a few days ago whereby we have had personalities who have been masquerading as police officers and they have stayed for much too long. Sometimes we wonder whether we are really under safe hands or what it is that goes on. Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, the fight for a new society is really the fight to change men and women and this starts with us. It will be unwise if at the very moment we are aiming at uniting humanity, we fight a generation war. There is no need for young people to be against the old and likewise also the old to be against the young. An older generation which stops thinking that it is right in criticising youth---"
