Let me also thank him for serving the country as the Vice-President and Minister for Home Affairs for the last five years. He has done well. We thank him very much also for working with President Kibaki and stabilizing the country at a time when we needed his leadership the most. Thank you very much, Your Excellency the Vice- President and Minister for Home Affairs. Let me also thank the President specifically for initiating so many projects in this country in terms of infrastructural development. Since he took over the leadership of this country, road network has been improved. The President himself has improved the entire economy. We have seen a lot of both micro and macro-economic activities in the country. He has promoted economic integration in the East African and the great lake regions, the Democratic Republic of Congo. He has made sure that the five states in East Africa have created a major market for Kenyans. The East African region now has many investors. This is because of the leadership of the President. I sincerely thank him and wish him well in his retirement. Let me also thank the President for initiating major projects in our county. These include the Konza City ICT Park, where many projects and many companies will be moving. I know this will be a major achievement for the President. We are all waiting for that particular project to kickoff so that people of Makueni and Machakos counties, business community here in Nairobi and the entire country can invest in that area. This will create much needed development projects and employment opportunities in that area. Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I am also thankful to members of the Departmental Committee on Finance, Planning and Trade. We have worked with them very well. I also thank members of the Constitution Implementation Oversight Committees (CIOC). I was able to serve as a Vice-Chairman of the Departmental Committee on Finance, Planning and Trade. We were able to generate many reports to this Parliament and I am very thankful for that. Mr. Speaker, Sir, as I complete my submission and support to this Motion, let me also urge the Government to begin work on Kibwezi–Kitui Road because as of today work nothing is doing on. With those few remarks, I beg to support."
