"content": "Secondly, I want to thank my party leader and good neighbour, the Vice-President and Minister for Home Affairs, hon. Kalonzo Musyoka. He has been an excellent neighbour and when things were in turmoil between Bura, Mwingi North and Mwingi South, we worked amicably and ensured that our people lived in peace and in harmony. Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I also want to thank many hon. Members in this House who have made me what I am, you being one of them. I want to say a very big thank you and I wish all of you luck. Lastly, I would want to urge the people of Tana River and the people of Tana Delta that at times we need to put our difference aside just for the sake of all of us. The bloodletting in Tana River has never stopped and the Government is not coming with enough help. It is only to call upon our people that it not time to feud. It is not time for conflicts and that we should put our hands down and show the way forward because we all require each other. This is a challenge also to the Ministry concerned because the last time we called for the intervention of the military we were told that enough contingents of policemen will be sent to Tana River. However, even as we seek solutions and what are the causes of fighting in Tana River, where is the police presence and security arms to ensure that people in Tana River do not continue killing one another. This needs to be acted upon urgently and I urge the Ministry to ensure that as we go into elections, we do not have the bloodletting that is currently happening in Tana River."
