    "content": " Mr. Speaker, Sir, I beg to reply. (a) I wish to confirm that the Banking Fraud and Investigations Department has been conducting investigations on Charterhouse Bank on allegations of violation of Banking Act. This was occasioned by a complaint by Ms. Rose Ndethu of the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK), Supervision Department to Banking Fraud and Investigation Unit in December 2006. In her complaint, she alleged that the bank had on several occasions contravened the Banking Act and CBK prudential guidelines. An inquiry file No.53/2007 was opened pursuant to that complaint which was later forwarded to the Attorney-General’s Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) office then for perusal and advice."
