"content": "the frustrations that we have gone through as a House, particularly on issues of women. We were frustrated. We feel betrayed. We felt that it was not only this House, but also the Supreme Court has frustrated the efforts of the women of this country. I feel very happy tonight that we are giving another chance for a woman to be considered. We know that there are many people in this country with pending issues in court, but they have no problem. They go to interviews and do anything they require to do. However, when it comes to a woman, the story is different. As a woman, if you steal a chicken, you are told: “You have a problem here.” When a man steals “Goldenberg”, there is no issue. Therefore, it is high time that we recognised the women of this country and give them due opportunities as per the constitutional requirement. This time round, the women of this country are not going to be given a privilege. It is a right which is stipulated in the Constitution. This is a right we gave to ourselves. We fought for the later tooth and nail. We are telling you that we are going to make history in this country this time round. Watch this space. You will see us. We are going to make it. With those few remarks, I support the Report as amended. The nominees are Kenyans who are going to serve us. The TSC is a reputable Commission. As a teacher, I feel very proud of this Commission."
