    "content": "Mr. Speaker, Sir, the initial amendment that we did was for us to have distinct committees of both Houses. That was informed by the fact that we have distinct constitutional functions as the two Houses. But I have a big problem deleting these Committees. Mr. Deputy Chairman, Sir, the argument here is that we should do things as we have done them in the past. We are living under a new dispensation. These Committees are necessary. I do not think there is anything wrong with us having national security committee separate from that one of defence. As it is, some of these Committees are being deleted and joined together; hon. Keynan is proposing that we have a National Security Committee and Defence as one."
