    "content": "Another option that was given yesterday in the House Business Committee is exploring the possibility of creating more departmental committees, but we leave that to this able Committee, if the House approves this Motion; it will be for them to look into ways of ensuring that each Member of this House belongs to a departmental committee and one other parliamentary committee, be it an oversight committee or a select committee. Therefore, I would urge that once the House approves this Motion, the Committee moves with speed to expand the membership of this House’s committees, so that the Committee on Selection can also fast-track the establishment of committees. Notices of Motion have already been given by hon. Members of this House. As we all know, the Government does not sit in this House. It is, therefore, the chairpersons of the departmental committees who will be replying to Motions relating to their committees. We are trying to ensure that by tomorrow or Tuesday next week, latest, all the departmental committees and other committees will be in place, so that Motions can properly come to the Floor of the House. With those remarks, I beg to support."
