"content": "Secondly, I take this opportunity to thank, most sincerely, the people of Gichugu Constituency for electing me to represent them in Parliament for the next five years, despite the many odds that were against me. They voted overwhelmingly for me; I had over 25,000 votes. I would like to take this opportunity again to congratulate His Excellency the President for giving a very clear and comprehensive exposition on the direction that the Government will take in the next five years. I would like to take, particularly, four r points for clarification and emphasis. The first issue is on corruption and transparency. I want to note that the President made a commitment to fight corruption and entrench the system of transparency and accountability. For the country to move forward, and to achieve the targeted development goals, transparency and accountability must be reinforced. I would like to say at this point that due to the fear of transparency, the previous regime in my constituency actually broke into the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) offices and stole the computers. I believe there was something they feared, or there was something which was not transparent, and which they did not want us to know. So, if we entrench transparency, I can assure you that this country will move forward."
