This Motion says that even if you default by a day--- If the date of submitting your returns to the National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) is today and you submit them tomorrow you have to are surcharged 500 per cent. That is five times. This has hurt very many business people. I support the Motion that this percentage should be reduced not even to 25 per cent but to five per cent, which is quite reasonable; you can imagine the amount of money you will pay if you owe the NHIF Kshs500,000 and you are surcharged 500 per cent."
