    "content": "Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, I would like to comment on one thing that appears to be in all the Commissions. People seem to have something against somebody who had stood for an election. That should never be a disqualification at all. In other jurisdictions, Members of Parliament are in great demand by the private sector. But in this country, when a Member of Parliament is not elected, that is the end of his or her professional life. That should not be the position. In fact, when Members of Parliament and Ministers are not in this House, they are even more valuable to the private sector. So, I think standing for an election should never be held against any person. Some of the candidates are not serious and get 1,200 or 2,000 votes. You cannot bar them from standing because of this."
