"content": "Garre. An additional 12 people were injured, out of whom five were seriously injured and were referred to Mandera District Hospital. This incident displaced a number of families who sought refuge at the Mandera North District Commissionerâs office and Rhamu police station. Following this incident, His Excellency the Deputy President of the Republic of Kenya, the hon. William Ruto, held a meeting with leaders from North Eastern Province on Saturday, 11th May, 2013 to address the insecurity in Mandera County. The meeting was attended by 21 leaders drawn from all the communities in the region and Government security team lead by the Permanent Secretary, Secretary to the Cabinet and Head of Public Service. The meeting deliberated on the issue and conveyed information to Kenyans through a Press Statement issued by His Excellency the Deputy President. Later I will table the Press statement that the Deputy President read. They have agreed on the following:-"
