    "content": "On Sunday, 12th May, 2013, senior security officers from the Ministry of State for Provincial Administration and Internal security accompanied by leaders from North Eastern Province held a leaders’ meeting in Rhamu, Mandera County, and thereafter conducted three public barazas in the area. The leaders resolved that the Government gives a three day amnesty for voluntary surrender of all illegally held firearms failure to which forceful disarmament will be carried out. The Government has further since boosted the security presence in Rhamu by deploying an additional 200 police officers. As a result of the amnesty, 14 firearms and 531 rounds of ammunition have been surrendered as at Wednesday, 15th May, 2013; that was yesterday."
