    "content": "I wish to clarify that contrary to media reports, the meeting chaired by His Excellency the Deputy President on Saturday, 11th may, 2013 did not discuss the possibility of the Kenya Defence Forces being deployed to handle the inter-communal conflict and neither was involvement of the Kenya Defence Forces discussed during the meeting. Words to note: the Kenya Defence Forces leadership was not present in the meeting because the issue was purely an internal security matter. Among the issues His Excellency the Deputy President reiterated was that the Government was committed to contain the clashes between the two communities of Rhamu, Mandera County. The Deputy President did not at any time ask for the deployment of the military in the area,"
