"content": "Committee. Secondly, adjourning debate on this Motion will enable the House to receive the list of the membership of the various committees of the House. As you know, a lot of business of this House has virtually come to a standstill due to the fact that we do not have House committees. I dare say that all the Members of this House are “majority” Members, with a keen interest, for instance, on the disbursement of the Constituencies Development Fund (CDF) money. We are keen to constitute committees, particularly the one relating to the CDF, so that we can summon the relevant Cabinet Secretary to discuss the release of CDF funds for the development of our constituencies. There are many other national issues that need to be addressed. There is the issue of insecurity, which cannot be dealt with adequately because we do not have the relevant Departmental Committees in place. So, I beg the indulgence of the Chair and that of my colleagues in the House that we adjourn debate on this matter, which still has a few hours remaining, with all due respect to my good neighbour, the Hon. (Prof.) James Nyikal for interrupting him. I appreciate, however, that the memory of this House will allow him at the right time to continue with the remainder of his contribution on the Motion. Hon. Deputy Speaker, with those remarks, I beg to move and call upon my very good friend, the Murang’a Women County Representative, hon. Sabina Chege, to second the Motion."
