"content": "Commission vide a letter dated 3rd May, 2013, was requested to provide any information touching on the integrity of the nominees that may be in the possession of the Commission. A reply was received on 7th May, 2013, advising that the Commission was not able to avail the information sought within the set deadline and would fast-track the process and revert back to the Committee within the shortest time possible. However, as at the conclusion of the vetting process, the information had not reached the Committee. The KRA informed the Committee that all the sixteen nominees are tax compliant. The Higher Education Loans Board confirmed to the Committee that nine nominees, who benefited from the Board had cleared their loans while the rest never benefitted. The Committee held a total of 13 sittings. The vetting of the nominees was undertaken on Thursday, 9th; Friday, 10th and Saturday 11, May, 2013. It was open to the public and was covered widely in the media. I want to confirm that the Committee embarked on writing its report, which was adopted on Monday, 13th May, 2013. In conclusion, I want to report that the report was adopted unanimously by the whole Committee. Therefore, with those few remarks, I beg to move this Motion and ask hon. Francis Nyenze, the Leader of the Minority, to second it."
