"content": "Kiria-ini Mission Hospital. The baby too died. Mr. Mwangi lodged a complaint before the Medical Practitioners Board against negligence at Kiria-ini Mission Hospital. When that matter was taken before the Board, the person who was chairing was Prof. Kaimenyi. He did something that was very unfair. He ejected a journalist called Antony Kariga who, incidentally, died the other day. It was unfair to eject Mr. Kariga because he was there to bring openness to that process. So, the submissions by Mr. Mwangi were not recorded. They were not given a fair hearing by Prof. Kaimenyi. Again, he was the Vice-chancellor at the University of Nairobi where he presided over suspension of university students unfairly. I was a student leader at the University of Nairobi and I know the problems he caused us. He was not a person who would afford us a hearing. Personally, I suffered a lot when he was the Vice-Chancellor, but that issue is neither here nor there. The key issue is how he treated Mr. Antony Mwangi. His defence in the Committee was that the decisions were collective. Mr. Mwangi did not make any accusations against Prof. Kaimenyi. He cannot hide behind the Committee to say that those decisions were collective. Ejecting Kariga from the proceedings was done by Kaimenyi in person. Therefore, as hon. Member of Jubilee Coalition, I would not want to embarrass my President and Deputy President. I may as well support this Motion. But on Prof. Kaimenyi, I do plead with hon. Members to express reservations. He is a person who did not treat my constituent well - Mr. Antony Mwangi. As a result, he did not get justice in the Medical Board."
