    "content": " I am not responding on behalf of the Government but I am contributing. My colleague from the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister and Ministry of Finance will respond on behalf of the Government. Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, whereas the intention of the Motion is very good, and I thank the hon. Member who brought it, I wonder how best this can be implemented. It is important for us to really realise that there are areas where we can think of subsidies like agriculture and manufacturing and not this area of high consumption. This is a consumer area. If this is done, it can distort the whole thing. Maybe, we will get engaged as a Ministry and as a Government to see how best we can cushion our people against the high fuel cost. However, the method suggested by Mr. Langat, with all due respect, is not practicable. Although I support the intent of the Motion, I find it difficult to justify how this can be implemented. With those few remarks, I support the Motion with the reservations that I have made."
