I rise to oppose the Motion, the first reason being that the person who seconded the Motion highlighted Article 167(1) of the Constitution, which provides that a Judge of the Supreme Court ought to retire at the age 70 years old. We are talking about succession in the Supreme Court given the fact that the Chief Justice and the Deputy Chief Justice will be retiring at the same time.
