Deputy Speaker, in support of this Motion I would like to point out that within this country we have solutions and I am glad that as part of the manifesto of the Jubilee Government there are indeed plans not only to irrigate more than a million acres but also to set up agricultural investment trusts because part of the way we can mobilise agriculture as an economic sector and also to feed our country is by public private partnership because the Government cannot do it all. I am also pleased that three quarters of Kenyans are actually involved in agriculture. Sadly, most of the production has been subsistence and I think that is what we need to move and this, indeed, is a good beginning and a move towards that direction."
