    "content": "happened. Government officials or politicians visited the place, made all manner of, I suppose, right noises but that was the end of it. Hardly six months down the line, it has happened. I am sure that another three months or six months it will happen and we shall be here still talking. It is true that we really need to focus on security of this area. I agree with hon. members who have mentioned that our security forces are severely restricted when it comes to firearms and equipment. I was very happy to hear His Excellency the President the other day talking about equipping our security forces; setting aside Kshs4 billion for buying the sort of equipment that our security forces need. This should be done very quickly. We should also boost the numbers of security forces. What the Chairman of the Committee in charge of security has been saying, if we have to station our security personnel in the manner he has suggested, we need to recruit more and they are there. There are Kenyans ready to offer themselves. I normally see when we have recruitments for whichever arm of the security forces, be it in the police, army and the rest, large numbers of Kenyans turn out to be considered. To me, that is an indication that Kenyans are ready to come out and defend their country and population. What they lack is proper coordination, facilitation and that is where the role of the Government comes in."
