Deputy Speaker, I also did further research and realized that the dialysis machines can be fitted in the local hospitals like the district hospitals and referral hospitals at a cost of between Kshs25 million and Ksh40 million. That is money that even hon. Member can pool together resources of the CDF as several constituencies in a county and put up such a facility. However, we need a framework to allow this to take place and we will save many lives because the cost of dialysis in Nairobi does not only include the expense but also the opportunity cost by those old people who are used to their day to day lives in the rural areas, who have to adjust to living in the city to go for dialysis because they cannot travel everyday from rural areas to the Kenyatta National Hospital. So, I support that we need to have these facilities in the county hospitals and even in the local dispensaries and health centers."
