"content": "Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, in Kenya, we have so many rivers and streams. We also have one of the longest rivers in the name of Tana River, which is almost 700 kilometres and around 410 miles. It runs through almost half of this country through Thika, the Aberdare Mountains, west of Nyeri, Mt. Kenya into the Masinga reserves. It also crosses around Garissa, Hola and Garsen before entering into the Indian Ocean. When will the Prime Minister come up with a prospective irrigation scheme to help the people of Coast Province and Kenyans at large in food security? The Government should come up with a positive irrigation programme. As you all know, rivers are sources of fresh water. When will the Prime Minister come up with a permanent solution in terms of irrigation?"
