"content": "Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I stand guided. The point I am trying to make is that out of the 16 Judges who were dismissed, 11 are women. That was never the purpose of this Board, and it will never be. Let me tell you what I thought the Board would be doing for this country. I thought that at the coming into force of the current Constitution, we would have a zero-beginning, as a country. I thought that a judge who was instructed by a politician to do something wrong during the Moi era would not be victimised for it today, because that judge could not have done it in any other way. They would never have had their jobs, if they did otherwise. The President then was the hirer and the firer of a judge. So, until recently if the President called and told you to convict somebody to be hanged to death, you would do so. That cannot be something that would constitute the basis for firing such a judge.
