"content": "Hon. Speaker, Sir, I want this House to be above board on the issue of teachers. We must resolve this issue once and for all. We cannot afford a situation where, year in, year out, teachers have to go to the streets to agitate for what they were promised by the Government long time ago. I know that the Chairman of the Budget and Appropriations Committee is a wise man. I would like him to come back to this House within a week and give us a solution to that problem, so that teachers can continue working. We are now in the second term of the education calendar. The teachers need to prepare our children for their final examinations, which are due next term. The election fever is over. It is now time for us to settle down and move forward. I believe that this House cannot tolerate unnecessary expenditure within the Government. Therefore, the Executive should be aware of the fact that this House is united. Irrespective of whether one is in Jubilee or Cord, we will not tolerate unnecessary expenditure. Let us give Kenyans value for their money. With those remarks, I beg to support."
