"content": "Our schools will do well if our teachers are motivated. This country cannot grow economically if our teachers do not concentrate on studies - from kindergarten, primary, secondary and at the university. This is an issue which should come to an end so that we can concentrate on education. As we move on, of course; we are talking about revenue and expenditure. We also know that the Government knows how to raise revenue. Let the Government ask Parliament to help in raising the required funds. Let the Government come up with suggestions to achieve what it needs. The Treasury and the Cabinet Secretary should come up with the necessary legislation to net tax. Let them come up with a new system. Tanzania is already using a system where, if you are a shopkeeper, the moment you sell an item, that item appears at the Tanzania Revenue Authority (KRA). That way, we will reduce the people who do not declare the sold goods. So, the Government needs to help KRA. The Government needs to come up with a system to assist Kenyans to pay taxes. We do not want to reach a stage where we are spending and the national debt is growing. We will not be able to pay. We will be pushing the burden to another generation. So, it is very important to balance the two. But as we balance the two, Kenyans are willing to work. Kenyans are hard-working. If you go out there in the morning, you will find Kenyans who have woken up at 4.00 a.m. going to work. Some of them wake up as early as 3.00 a.m. Some actually go to work on foot. The people who go to Kibera are devoted Kenyans. They love this country."
