    "content": "are repaired. This should be done by a Disaster Management Authority like the one proposed here. So, I support the Motion as amended and hope that at some point, it will become law that can guide the way we manage disasters. First of all, we need to prepare our people. Most of our people live in low lying areas, where we have rivers and streams, and should be told that there is a possibility of floods which can wreck their homes. They find themselves marooned, but if we have an institution that can warn them and ensure that they move to safer grounds before the disaster strikes, then we will be doing something. I support this Motion. I hope that we will have a law that will provide for the establishment of an authority, and a team that can ensure that our people are prepared; when disasters strike, all the operations should be coordinated properly. If there are issues of destruction, they can also be handled properly by the Government."
