Its import is to establish a select committee to investigate and carry out research with a view to establishing what miraa really is. We cannot wish away the fact that there are certain regions in this country, especially the Meru region, which grow a lot of miraa . This is not something to hide. This has the potential of bringing the economy of that region to a very high standing. This crop should be treated differently from the way it is treated currently.
