    "content": "decisive action on this matter of Goldenberg scandal. I pray and believe he will do something better than his predecessors did on this matter. Hon. Deputy Speaker, as we speak, you know the Goldenberg scandal has got this knack of mutating. Goldenberg has been able to mutate and as we speak there is talk of a new Goldenberg, without mentioning people’s name. There is talk of a new Goldenberg. We are being told of Sky Hawk International and Ushindi Exports selling thousands of kilogrammes of gold whereas we know that this country’s capacity is less than 50 kilogrammes a month. So, this House has got a responsibility under the Constitution to safeguard public interest. In fact, Article 95(2) of the Constitution clearly stipulates that one of the functions of the National Assembly is to deliberate on and resolve issues of public interest, or of concern to the people. This House must stamp its authority and take on impunity head on. Hon. Deputy Speaker, as I move this Motion, I will be calling upon the Government to take decisive action and stop further payments to Goldenberg and its networks. I can go on and demonstrate how Goldenberg was used to fleece this country. In fact, there is evidence in the Bosire Report that Goldenberg was used to finance the KANU elections of 1992. That evidence is here; Goldenberg payments were made under express instructions of none other than the then President. This House is being called upon---"
