"content": "Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I want to explain and you will be able to understand the whole scenario, if you take note. First, TARDA and KenGen do not release water artificially. I will explain this. I know that at the end people normally have problems downstream. There five dams are built along River Tana. They are Masinga, Kamburu, Gitaru, Kindaruma and Kiambere dams. Out of the five dams, Masinga Dam is the biggest with a capacity of 1.6 billion cubic metres of water. That is the volume of water it can hold. Therefore, during the rainy season, when the dam is full to capacity, the excess water spills over and goes down the river."
