Temporary Deputy Chairman, the Cabinet Secretary appeared before the Committee on 11th July, 2013 and said that he was ready to operationalise the Act but he required an extension of only three months from the commencement date. However, we noted that the regulations were not yet in place, the directors had not yet been elected, the Chief Executive of the Authority had not yet been appointed, and that the chairman of the Authority was yet to be nominated and approved by Parliament. Therefore, as a Committee, we decided to give him six months. I think the Committee will stand by that decision. Thank you."
