Deputy Speaker, I want to thank the Mover for moving this Motion but, as I support the Motion, we have to accept that it is almost a universal principle that every adversity brings with it equal - if not greater - opportunity. I think the Dandora Dumpsite must now be seen as an opportunity. As we know, for Kenya to achieve Vision 2030, it has to produce one Gigawatts of electricity per year. It is estimated that up to 50 Megawatts of electricity can be generated from the Dandora Dumpsite. Therefore, it is important for the Nairobi county government and the Central Government to work together, so that huge amount of latent chemical energy can be converted into electrical energy for use in Nairobi and its environs.
